While the SC is a plywood and glass boat, the SC2 is polyester and glass.  Many of the features of the SC have been retained in the SC2.

The major design difference is an increase in the beam of the SC2 from 2.8 to 3.0m.

The Super Calin 2

The SC2, built in Poland by TRANSAT (www.transat.pl), has an excellent pedigree.  She was designed by Jean-Pierre Magnan, who designed, races, and builds the Super Calin.  Over 35 Super Calins have been built.

The SCs have enjoyed great success in Med races and the Mini-Transat.  One SC finished second on leg 2 of the 2005 MT and placed third overall in the Series class.

The two pictures (upper right) show the similarities in design.  The SC with a 2.8m beam looks virtually identical to the stern of the SC2 3.0m beam.

The SC2 is now being offered with a cruising option including porta-head & small galley.
